RogerofWendover(?-1236)wasanEnglishiclerofthe13thtury.AtaehebekatSt.AlbaerwardsheointedpriorofthecellofBelvoir,butheforfeitedthisdignityintheearlyyearsofHenryⅢ,havingbeenfoundguiltyofwastis.HislateryearswerepassedatSt.Albans,wherehediedon6May1236.

WendoverworkedatSt.Albansaoworkwiththeseriesofimportanticlers.TheFlowersofHistoryishisbest-knownicle.ItisbasedionmaterialwhichalreadyexistedatSt.Albans.Probablytheaucleusoftheearlyparter’sFlowersofHistoryissupposedtohavebeeionofJohnofWallingford,whowasabbotofSt.Albansfrom1195to1214.
